4-step chat

  1. Choose a room
  2. Type a nickname then click Enter
  3. Check who else is in the room
  4. Type a message or command then click "Say" ; or type a description of an action (laughing, smiling, typing) and click "Act"

Chatroom messages are not automatically saved. To keep a copy of a discussion, select text then copy and paste in a word processor.

 sends a private message to a user /msg nickname how are you?
/query
 opens a new window to talk privately to someone /query nickname
/notice
 sends a message to the chat screen for one person /notice nickname

 changes current nickname to a new one /nick newname
/quit
 closes down chatroom; can be sent with a message /quit see you later
